Tom Tom3 bluetooth

Could someone tell me when i set off on my journey why my hp2210 tom tom3 gps system informs my My position is unreliable,i want to get a fix while i am about to set off and not ten miles down the road.

The reason for this is the GPS needs to download the information from the sats again to find its location, all i could advise is that you turn the GPS on and leave about 5mins before you plan to go.

The signals from the satellites are very weak and are easily blocked by trees, buildings etc. If your car has a heat reflecting windscreen that will severely attenuate the signals so try moving the receiver to a different location.
