Default pocket PC 2003 I'm having problems with tomtom 3

Since I have upgraded my pocket PC operating system to pocket PC 2003 I'm having problems with tomtom 3, before with operating system 2002, when tomtom was running I could just hit the power button on the PDA to switch it off while I went in a shop or service station etc and when I got back in the car could just pressed the power switch on the PDA and tomtom 3 would resume, but now with operating system pocket PC 2003 the PDA just won't switch on (it crashes) and I need to do a soft reset! Any ideas how I can prevent this

PS: it's an Ipaq 3850

I'm not familiar with the problem but you could try to update TomTom to the latest version 3.03 available from their website or just leave it running when you nip into the shop.

No, screen burn will not affect your iPAQ.
