Default HP 4150 AND TomTom3 Bluetooth

Hello! I desperately need some advise! I have browsed your threads and asked TomTom Techs for help but I still cannot resolve the problem.

The display on my 4150 still reads "GPS unreliable" although I have moved it several positions. After 2 hours it still reads the same meesage.

When I connect to Bluetooth, The bluetooth light on the receiver remains constant . The green light just flashes.

I have read the manuals again and visited the TomTom website but I am at my wits end..Please help.......

Thank you

Welcome to our forums.
Where have you positioned the receiver?

Initially I positioned the reciever on the dash board. when there was no signal after 1hour I placed the receiver along the rear screen.

When there still was no signal. I positioned the reciever in my back garden.

I thought that maybe my windscreen was 'heat reflective' because I found a window behind my mirror. I then tried positioning the reciever there but all it did was make my mirror go dark. I then removed it and my mirror returned to normal. Everytime I try and get a signal, I leave the receive for at least 45 minutes minimum as stated in the instructions.

Your receiver may be faulty. Which make and model is it?

hi tatjana,
i am having the same problem with my dell x3 and the TT3 wired GPS(latest versions of tt3 and the GPS). i am in the same state as you are right now and i have not yet been able to get a GPS fix since i bought the system. i am usinag a seido carmount and really do think there is a problem with the GPS receiver as i do not see any dots communicating between the GPS and pocket pc icons when the whole assembly is in place. i have mailed to the support at TT and total pda but not yet got a reply. I will keep u posted.
anantkrish.

Got a reply from TT support stating the ff:

Go into the navigator software and open the navigator menu and then the GPS status icon (GPS Tab). At the top the model should say TomTom wireless GPS and the com port should say com port 6 and the box to the left of this is ticked.

We hope to have answered your question to your satisfaction.
With best regards,

The TomTom Customer Support Team

There is no COM6 port there is only COM1 and the area they are specifying can't be clicked on anyway.

hope you can offer more assistance.
