Default Speed Camera info for TomTom GO

Here's some info I got from TT tech support. I had asked whether the new update for TT GO, allowing customisable POIs, (due end summer 04) would allow inputting all speed camera locations automatically, or would the user have to do it manually, location by location (if you know them).

The speed camera software is not written by TomTom. Rather, we are giving other programmers and enthusiasts the opportunity to write their own POIs. The speed camera software is currently available ONLY for Pocket PCs, http://www.pocketgps.co.uk/tomtompoi.php

The developer or others MAY produce a speed camera database which can be used by TomTom Go users. However, as the software is written by a 3rd party. TomTom will not be able to provide any technical support for the installation or use of 3rd party software.

the new update will be able to have it. it's currently being tested. it's true that they don't support it the mentioned site above also will tell you more about it as they will provide such POIs for the TTGO soon.

The above site also had "Confirmation" of a new software release for the TomTom Go on the 12th August 2004. Has yet, 2 weeks later, still no new release.

So, going by the other sites response of this false info. I would wait for "Official" notice from TomTom for any updates.

Plus i did notice, a lot of postings got DELETED,after asking questions about the public demonstration, before being officially released to the customers
