tom tom GO630 europe 22

Default tom tom GO630 europe 22

hi i have just bought this and am still working my way thru it
but one question regarding safety(speed) cameras
i bought the service from tom tom ,downloaded it on to my tom tom and tried it today where i knew there was afixed speed camera but no alert or anything
do you only get an alert if your going too fast or have i done something wrong?
please help

You probably haven't done anything wrong its just the database is crap TBH, make sure on the device you have gone to Plus services and enabled the safety camera option, if you have done this its down to poor data, I use the database from Pocketgpsworld which is far better for coverage/ accuracy/ updates and clarity of warning - Mike

what are plus services on the screen now ive got tomtom saftey cameras and on disable alerts there is a cross on it does this mean it on or off ? and also disable report button has a cross also

The red cross denotes the action you will be asking the device to do when you press it so a red cross on the icon means the camera alerts are in fact active.

This have never been a very intuative part of the menu structure IMHO as it often leads to confusion.

You have the device set to issue alerts to the cameras and the report button is enabled from what you describe - Mike
