Can't charge both Tungsten and TomTom GPS at same time

I had my TomTom Tungsten package a while. Among the many problems I had, is the inability for both Palm and GPS to charge in the TomTom cradle at the same time. It's weird: The Palm is charging happily. Then I plug in the GPS and the Palm stops charging. I disconnect the GPS and the Palm charges again. So this is not a simple physical connection problem.

What's weirder is that I had this problem way back when I first bought the TomTom, and it spontaneously resolved. Now it's appeared again! Good thing the Palm has a three hour battery life, but this is unacceptable.

TomTom's suggestion is that the SD card is damaged and I should reformat and reinstall everything. Does anyone have any idea what's happening?

Could it be something simple like the connection into the back of the receiver or into the side of the cradle?

Don't see how: the only thing that changed was inserting and detaching the GPS wire. Which toggles the charging from the Palm to the GPS.

Then perhaps your cradle has a faulty charging circuit?
