Unhappy Which Gps, Which pda, which bundle?

A friend at work got a dell x5 with wired gps using tomtom, I was very impressed so thought I would buy one. He paid just under £300 for the lot so I started looking on the web to see what was available.
Now I am confused there are so many systems, so many different pda's and so many options. After trawling through loads of sites I found this one which seems to have loads of options at reasonable prices.

Can anyone please advise me which bundle is best for the following uses and how much memory I will need. I need to keep the cost to a minimum as this is only a toy and the wife doesn't agree that I need one.
Uses.
Gps in car, Gps for walking / cycling, wifi web and email use, general office functions excel / word etc, ( i would also be interested in the speed camera stuff but I think this may be downloadable anyway)
I like the look of tomtom on my friends but have no idea if this is the best one.
I think the 4698 and 4699 ipaq bundles will do the job but can I justify and do I really need the 5550.
Help asap please would like it for trip in 2 weeks time
Thanks
Andy

Welcome to our forums.
I haven't looked at the packages youve mentioned because the 5550 is probably overkill. I'd look at a TomTom package with the iPAQ h4150 as it is a good bit cheaper than the 5550 but has the features that you are looking for. You will need at least a 128MB SD card as the whole UK map is approx 101MB. If you plan on getting european maps then you'd be recommended to get a card of about 256MB as some of the maps a quite a bit larger.
