Default TomTom Stinks

My wife and me planned a trip to France last week. great I thought a good chance to try my TomTom Bluetooth maps of Europe. So while in the UK I set destinations ready for the trip. Well we surfaced from Euro tunnel a 3am in the morning and I turned on my TomTom and guess what it crashed I kept getting a fatal error come up and despite all my efforts I couldn't sort it until back in the UK a week later, whereby I had to reformat the SD card and reload maps of Europe. I'm really getting tired of the problems encountered with TomTom software. And as a foot note I have email TomTom 3 times asking if its possible to use a wired version and still use my original maps and software, still no answer. There customer care really stinks. Their not a patch on Navman for support. All of this together with conection problems I would say 50% of the time I have to do a soft reset when I plane a route.
So far I have spent £700.00 on satnav product and PDA's and the best thing of it was the alarm clock feature of the PDA.
Oh and I've emailed Total PDA and still await a reply.Funny though because in that time they have email me 3 times trying to get me to part with more cash.

I'm sorry to hear you are having such problems and are so unhappy with your purchase ( and service ). Which PDA are you using with the TomTom system and what version of TomTom are you currently running?

OK, first you can use the wired TomTom receiver with the kit you have.
I am looking into the fatal alerts just now so I don't have an answer for that just yet but have you downloaded the latest v4.40 update for TomTom from their site?

Morning Charlie
I had V4.0 so I have loaded V4.40 this morning. Do you know what difference I should expect to find.
Many thanks.
