Question Tom Tom screen mount

I have just purchased an iPAQ 1710 kit. I have positioned the screen mount and it will not stay in place even before I have put the pc in the cradle, so I am a little reluctant to do so in case it all falls in my lap. Does anyone have any tips or tricks to help.

Following on from my query about the screen mount. I have tried using the adhesive pad, and that will not work either, the power cable is not long enough and pulls the pda away from the pad or the screen. [I have a Ford Mondeo, and the power socket is next to the hand brake.]

You need to clean the screen were the mount will sit and also clean the suction pad.
If the cable will not reach then relocate the mount to within reach or get an extension from somewhere like Maplins.

Charlie,
Thanks for the guidance. I have now bought an extension power lead. However I still have a problem with the suction screen mount. I tried a colleagues today and that works fine, so I fear I may have a faulty one. Are replacements available please?
