If you have a laptop and don’t really require PDA functions then you have been advised correctly the TomTom Go is probably the most popular due to ease of use. The Tom Tom Go is easy to move from car to car as you just mount on the windscreen and plug 1 cigarette cable in to power the device, that’s all the cables required. Simply turn on the device and tap on the screen (full touch screen, no stylus pen required). Due to it only being a SatNav device the CPU can concentrate on doing one task at a time, this makes the TomTom Go faster than any PDA system on the market at the moment.
Advantages of Dedicated in car GPS
• Faster than you standard PDA based systems.
• More reliable only doing one task less need to reset the unit.
• Some offer large disk space from 256MB - 11GiG+
• Less clutter more compact unit
The PDA advantages are the ability to multi task, from accessing your email on the move to watching movies etc, PDA used to be the business mans tool but now due to the amount of manufactures and the demand for different levels of PDA’s you can get one to suit anybody. I personally use a Imate-Jam
http://www.totalpda.co.uk/I-Mate-Jam...Pocket-PC.aspx which is a mobile phone and a PDA/GPS in one. I personally don’t want to carry around a lot of different devices, as I ride a motorcycle most of the time and the less I carry the better. I find the device great at doing a number of different tasks. I would recommend that you give our sales lines a call as there pre tech and will be able to advise you.
