Default Tom tom display update speed jerky

Having upgraded from TT3 to TT5 I ran it up for the first time.

I was immediately impressed as the update speed while navigating was a lot faster (updates to the map/location in TT3 would be about every 0.5 seconds and jerky) TT5 was doing it more like 5 or 10 times per second.....really great and smooth which made going round roundabouts brilliant.

After a while my entire XDAII locked up and I had to do a cold boot.

After I reinstalled TT5 the update speed is now back to 0.5 seconds and very jerky and I don't know of any way to change it.

Anyone had a similar problem ? or know of a way to change the update speed ?

When you upgraded did you hard reset the PDA and do a clean install of tomtom 5?

Not initially, but after it locked up I had to do a cold boot (Hard Reset)

I've also noticed today that the update speed when in the map view is fast again but the update speed when in navigator view is still only updated once per second.....

I had the same thing happen.

I found that it worked really smooth until i put in the Pocketgps warnings and then it went back to the old style movements (TTN3). if you limit the types of camera in the TTN5 you get the smoothness back.

Don't know why, it just does.
