Right ive got it working again, but it wont hold a good signal

is that beacuse im out in the sticks?

do you normaly get a worse signal being in the middle of no where?

I wouldnt of thought it would make a difference the satalites being in space and all lol

do ya think my cf card is broken, or just crap maybe?

ive seen people talking on the net saying they have a CF gps card and theres is that good it works inside with no windows, mine has NO hope inside, and its crappy outside

it houestly spends 40 seconds finding the signal, has a signal for 5 seconds, then its another 40 seconds to find it again

I don't know about your problem with the cf card but have a couple of points. The sat nav should still be able to pick up a signal in the country side as long as it has a view of the sky. The windscreen doesn't have to be heated, it may be coated in which case it will make a huge difference as i had the same problem until i moved the receiver to an area of the windscreen that is not coated (i think that all coated screens have an area that you should be able to use, mine was by the rear view mirror). Since moving it, mine works like a charm. If the tester program with the CF Card is not working / showing a fault, then I would hacve thought that would be your problem (can you get a refund???).

Talking

to check if the car has coated windscreen set the gps running in the car then take the pda out of the car and see if the singal increases if it does its likely youll need an external areial
from what i remember tt5 doesnt support cf receivers out of the box (could be wrong though)

what cf card do youy have i know my 3 year old pretec takes an age to lock on try getting an external antena for it

if you leave the gps for a week of so between uses then the receiver will need to do a first fix make sure the gps has a lock before you start driving as this will aid the receiver getting a fix if you are stationary
