Angry Tomtom Bluetooth and 5550

Just purchased Tomtom bluetooth (maps and gps) and a 5550 from www.totalpda.co.uk and the two items only connect when within a few inched of each other. After that, they loose connection when anymore than a foot apart.

Any ideas - is one of the items faulty ?

My 5550 and bluetoth Tom Tom GPs work ok in my car with a distance of about 2 feet. I've also tried it at home with a longer distance, possibly 5 feetl.I should'nt think that you would need a longer distance than say a couple of feet whilst in the car.

Could be external interference ?

Ok, for what it's worth I've set my receiver on my bedroom windowsill and have gone to the far end of my adjoining bedroom ( a distance of approx 30 feet with adjoining wall ) and have picked up a signal intermittently. Walking nearer to the receiver ( still on the other side of the adjoining wall ) I can pick up a signal at about 20 feet distance.

Your receiver may be faulty; speak to Total PDA, they're usually very cooperative.

Hope this helps

Abrar
