Default TOM TOM 5 XDAIIi CRASHES

Hello Please could someone help.

I have the tom tom 5 software installed on my o2 xdaIIi pda.
and it connects to the gps reciver ok. But the problem i have is after a while it just stops working and the tom tom software stop and goes back to the today screen. normaly i do a soft restart and that can help but the the problem normaly comes back after awhile. it can work ok for 5 minutes or 1 hour if im lucky. and it seems to be getting worse. and now it crashes after it has calculted the route. when it trys to display the map.
I have made sure that there is no other software running in the back ground.
And now I have done a hard reset but it hasn't helped.
I just want to know if anyone else has had this problem. and if they know how to solve it.

Another very very frustrated owner of XDAIIi. I have upgraded to tomtom 5 nav and have frozen so many times I think I have the answer to global warming!!! Tomtom "help" reccomended I upgrade my SD card as it is suposed to be a card speed issue. This I did and bought a SabDisk Extreme 111 it certainly speeded thing up a bit and I guess was worth the money for that. I bought it on ebay which was buy far the best price for a new disk. Without connecting to traffic it works like a dream but once connected to gprs and traffic it freezes as soon as there as traffic tries to update. I have a thread running with tomtom help and I will let you know what they say next. Although I have been waiting three days for a reply, guess they don't know the answer!

I have also tried to load other software from Handango and found the success rate low with lots of freezing on various bits of software. I think o2 have got to sort a few problems out and I am also thinking of sending it back.

Would anyone reccomend a good replacement?

Hello all

I have had an interesting solution for this problem that may help and you may have not tried.

Which voice are you using? I have been told by I friend to only install GB Tim voice, if you are using any other then fully hard reset your PDA and re-install TomTom with only this voice.

I was previously using USA Lori voice but have been told this solves the problem, but I am going to test this today on the road. So will report back on here.

I am sure all of you are as fustrated with TomTom Mobile 5 as I am, so this is certainly worth a try.
