Unhappy Tom Tom Nav 5 Woes

Hey all.
Recently purchased Nav5 and am loving it with the speed camera POI add on :-)
However after MDAIII woes over the weekend I had to perform a hard re-set, thus causing me to loose all my install apps and setting. After re-installing Tom Tom I am having problems trying to connect to the Tom Tom wired GPS receiver I bought. Just come up saying no GPS signal. Can any one point me in the correct direction to fix this problem? I feel the problem actually lies with my MDAIII more so than the Tom Tom software due to the fact that it’s the MDA that failed over the weed (went to use it on Sunday and it was dead, although spending all Saturday charging in the car!).
Any help appreciated.
Thanks.
Jon.

Hmm have you re paired the GPS with your PDA?
Have you disabled IR in start, settings, connections, beam?
Have you selected the correct com port?
