Unhappy Tom Tom Nav 5 - Loosing favourites and POI's etc

Please help!!!

Very new to this. Have recently loaded TTN5 version 5.1 (BLuetooth MK11) onto my IPAQ 2210. Nav and GPS seems to work fine but.......... each time I switch off the application I loose all of the data I have set up in Favourites, Home, and POI's etc.

Just tried loading the 5.21 update but that doesn't seem to help.

Can anyone help please!

Hey there,

Look for the .cfg file (should be in the map folder) and then delete it (for some reason it develops a read only attribute). Then when you restart tomtom, it will re-create the file without any errors.

Let me know how you get on

Thanks for the speedy reply.

Where exactly should I fing the .cfg file 'cos I've looked everywhere on the SD card, especially in the Great Britain Map folder and the nearest thing I have is a .pnafile called Great Britain. I can't find any .cfg files on the card at all.

Is this my problem, do you think?

I do have a navigator.cfg file in a Navigator folder under Program Files! This does not appear to be read only in Properties!

Any ideas would be appreciated.

Use Active Syn and use the explore option to get a file called Great-Britain-Map.cfg - normally it would be on the storage card folder. Copy that file to your PC then right click on the file and select properties. Then UN-Tick the Read-Only option, then OK to exit.

Copy the modified file from the PC back to TomTom and when asked if you want to Replace the file, Click Yes

I really appreciate the steer Lupos0 1, but I have been using Explore in Active Sync and I simply don't have a file of that name in that location. I have tried a search but that came up blank too. I'm at a bit of a loss.

Hi again Emu,

sorry to hear that you are still having problems with this. I am surprised that you can't find the 'country'.cfg file.
Anyway, try this link. There are some other people with the same problem that seemed to have found a fix:

http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/module...wtopic&t=32791

Ps. just an afterthought but are you showing all files (non hidden??). I have the great britain map on my PDA and when I go into File Explorer, SD Card, Great-Britain-Map, there is the file I mean. It is called Great-Britain-Map.cfg

Let me know how you get on.

Thanks for the lead, but I'm still struggling. Spent two days tryimg to sort this without any joy.

I've re-checked for .cfg file and it simply isn't there, hidden or not hidden! I'll take it up with the www.totalpda.co.uk guys who sold us the card, but if anyone has any ideas in the meantime I'd love to hear them.

Thanks for your efforts lupos0 1. I'll let you know how I get on.

Just for the record, this is now sorted. My .cfg file was missing from the GB map folder. Thanks again to lupos0 1.
