European Main Road Maps

I am looking at getting Tom Tom Navigator 5 with GB maps. Does this come as standard with the European main road maps or am I going to have to pay out for the whole of Western Europe? In these forums I read about the GB plus map but I am not clear if this is with Navigator 5 or an extra and if it is with it, can it install without a separate enabling key.

(I have a trip to make to Italy via F, NL, B, Ge, A, I).

I have the Western Europe Maps and I recommend that if you want to go door - to - door, then you will need them too. If' on the other hand you want to go to a general point on the map as your destination, and if necessary define waypoints to follow on the way, then GB Plus will do that fine, as it has the major and main roads for the rest of Europe included. The standard GB map will stop at the channel though!!!

Hi there,

I think that the standard GB Maps include the Major Roads of Europe - that's the "Plus" part. If you want to go door to door or off the main Motorways / A type roads then you probablyneed to buy the set of Western Europe maps. These comein 5 or 6 CD's and you can load individual countries to suit your needs.
