1) Important information
Your version of TomTom should have been supplied with a product code, either on a card inside the box or on a sticker on the application CD. If this is missing, and assuming the product is a legitimate copy, contact TomTom Customer support.
Assuming the product was registed at purchase, you can also find this code by visiting
http://www.tomtom.com, select "My Products" then the TomTom 5 product code should be listed.

***ENSURE YOU HAVE ALL OF YOUR INSTALLATION & MAP SOFTWARE on CD BEFORE REMOVING ANY COMPONENTS***
***Backup any POI (*.bmp & *.OV2 files - both with same name) and/or config data to your PC***
It is recommended any installed components, including map files on memory cards are removed prior to reinstallation. Reload custom config/POI files back you your map folder(s)
Your activation code *should* remain the same, and can be found by visiting
http://www.tomtom.com, select "My Products" then the correct TomTom 5 product code. Select 'Manual Activation' on the device
If the Device code differs from those listed, you will need to visit
http://www.ttcode.com for a new code or ensure the device has access to the internet and select 'Automatic' on the device (via Bluetooth mobile phone, USB lead/cradle or Wi-Fi).
**Any previously issued codes will be erased where a new device code is generated and no longer work with TomTom PLUS services as per the TomTom License Agreement** 3) Installation on a new/replacement device

Visit
http://www.tomtom.com, select "My Products" then the correct TomTom 5 product code. If your last activation was over 6 months, then simply ensure the device has access to the internet (via Bluetooth mobile phone, USB lead/cradle or Wi-Fi) select 'Automatic' from the device.
If your last activation was less than 6 months ago, then follow the instrctions in section 5.
4) Troubleshooting
TomTom only permits issuing a new activation code every 6 months. If your last code was issued less than 6 months ago, or you encounter errors using your code (either manually or automatically), then you will need to log a support question at
http://www.tomtom.com AND fax TomTom (Fax: 00 31 208 501097) with the following:
- Cover letter explaining reason for needing the new code & requesting code change for PLUS services
- Your Product code & version
- The new device code reported by the device
- The email address used on your tomtom account to register the product.
- For new devices, or new software purchases which will not activate from the box
Copy of the sales invoices for the device/software as appropriate.
TomTom will supply the new information via the original email address/support notitification used for product registration ONLY.
