TT Bluetooth GPS start up speed

I have a new unit paired with Nav v5 in an IPAQ PDA. The spec which attracted me to the TT unit was speeed of start up. My unit is extremely slow, regularly timing out before it has even achieved a fix. This is in southern England in the open air with 7 or more satellites visible. What are other experiences - do I have a rogue unit, or is this in fact typical?

Is it the TomTom mkII bletooth reciever?

Just got the same unit, and very impressed. Get a lock either instantly or under 30secs.

Trick I've found. Power on the BT reciever (esp whilst walking to the car/loading car). Fire up your PDA then TT.

I have found locks take a while if the mkII is started up inside, then taken outside. Why I have no idea.
