Default h1940 with tomtom 9821x(bluetooth) trouble

Hello I am new to all this bluetooth & tom tom stuff
I have followed the instructions to the letter and have paired my ipaq with bluetooth gps but after leaving it out to get a signal (2 hours) still gps unreliable.... Am I doing something wrong or is it broken

Thanks Getsurfers I think I will have to buy new software it is navigator 2 software I did download the 3 upgrade but it told me I needed the 3 maps so if I have to buy them I may as well go for 5?
