Tom Tom 3 Bluetooth - first login GPS position

Just bought the Tom Tom 3 Bluetooth with Ipaq 2210, but cannot get the current location to register. The manual indicates it may take upto 45 mins the first time you switch on, but I've been trying for ages with no joy.
Has anyone experienced this problem, and can you give me any advice to resolve. Many thanks!!

try to do a soft reset, mine does the same thing and this seems to clear the problem
