New POI Icons for TomTom Navigator 5

I would like picture icons for my new POI's instead of the star which TT installs. Can I copy the supplied (.BMP) POI icons to modify and use in my own POI entries, if so how do I get to them? or are others available free on any websites?

Some may already exist.

To create your own, save the image as 16x16 .bmp with the same name as the corresponding OV2 file.

So long as it's for personal use only, any company image usage as icons should be fine. If you intend to share commercially (whether free or not), then you will need the company concerned's permission first.

Thanks for the help. Can I also copy the original TTNavigator icons, modifiy them slightly and reuse as my own POI's ? if so how do I copy them from the HP pocket PC/TomTom ? Cheers.

The TT icons are inbuilt into the software, and cannot be copied or altered.
