Default Hi Guys.....

.........I wonder if anyone out there can help me.

I have a Nokia 6600 smartphone, and was given a copy of the tomtom 5 mobile software.

I've also bought (from ebay) a bluetooth gps receiver. This appears to be unbranded, but claims to be a 32 channel receiver, and the model is: BTGPS74R

The tomtom software has loaded, and appears to function ok on the 6600, the gps receiver flashes to indicate that a position has been established, and when I search for devices, find the receiver, and perform the pairing process, all appears ok, and the receiver is listed as a 'paired device'.
However, the blue light on the receiver doesn't flash (which it should) and the tomtom software states 'NO GPS DEVICE', so presumebly, they don't want to talk to each other despite the phone thinking it's established a connection.

Can anyone shed any light on this please?

I've attached a pic of the unbranded receiver.

cheers

Jon fuller

Normally you have to tell tomtom that you are using a Bluetooth GPS after you have paired the device. Not too sure as I use a PDA with wired GPS.

Normally you need to either say it's wired, and select your BT port, or use other NEMA and select the port used by your BT.

Any idea where in the software(s) (phone or tomtom) that I select the port?

Thanks guys, all working now, much appreciated!

Don't suppose anyone has any idea why it (TomTom mobile 5, v5.000) won't accept full postcode do they? a pal has the same phone, map version, app version etc, and his takes the full post code, mine will only accept 4 digits.

Assuming you've loaded the Postcode software, create a blank folder called TomTom on your Sd card (or device mem if that's where you stored the postcode app).

See - http://www.totalpda.co.uk/forum/show...light=postcode (Tomtom 5 Full UK Postcodes ???)
