Angry Tom Tom 3 keeps freezing !!

Just used my Ipaq 2210 with Bluetooth Tom Tom 3 Navigator for the first proper time, but during the journey it froze. I soft re-booted and started up Bluetooth again, but after another 20mins it froze again. This happened 6 times during my 3 hour journey. Has anyone experienced anything similar, and is there anything I can do to rectify it. If not does anyone know a quicker way to re-set??

What version of ROM do you have on your 2210, there is an updated version that upgrades from PPC to Windows Mobile.

Check out http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/fi.../105_5721.html

Stevie - will this fix the problem, or are there any other options I could use. I'm a bit worried that installing the new ROM may lead to more troubles!!

In honesty, I've found TT3 to be _pretty unstable_ too. Mysterious lock-ups on several machines of different brands and hardware designs.

On my own old cheap Acer N10, TT2 (rev 2.05) NEVER froze. Never. As all kinds of new features were added, the program began to loose its' stability, and by the time 2.24 came out stability was something "the other guys had". I always thought it had to do with the cheap Acer itself, but after having being confronted with this problem on HP's, Toshiba's and Dell's alike, I now know better.

TT3 is worse in my opinion. TT3 (3.00) was one of the first programs that really kicked me out of the program with a "general fault" on my PDA followed by a core dump : while the 3.01 upgrade seems to have mended this situation, TT3 in its current revision can't hold a candle to the stability of the original 2.05 revisions. If for example I reach my plotted destination with TT3, and route another destination right aftwards, there's a 95% chance of the program locking up before I reach the first corner of the new destination route. Resetting the PDA immideatly clears the situation, but it's a pain nontheless.

As I'm hearing these kind of remarks all over the place here, I expect we'll be seeing a couple of new patches/revision for TT3 real soon.

Thanks for the info Kris, I'm using a Mio 558 and Rikaline 6030 Bluetooth adapter and TT3 and I'm experiencing the same problems, the only thing I already had is that tomtom GPS started but Tomtom NAvigator didn't want to start up ... had to hard reset and reinstall everything.
And the Bluetooth connection in Tomtom GPS has to be reconnected after some time .... almost sold everything but with reading your comments I'm a little calmed
I'm going to try TT2, hopefully this will work more stable.

i found that the connection between tomtom gps n ipaq 2210 keeps dropping - i never had this problem on tomtom2. it seems this is a big, common problem.... surely they would have tested it before rolling it out???

this is definately faulty.. you shouldn't have to keep hard resetting, or even setting up the connection manually.. tomtom2 used to activate the bluetooth connection auto when you ran navigator... how you supposed to do all this when you're driving along???
