Tungsten T3 & wired GPS (charging issue)

Great forum and has been very useful.
My first post so be nice

I've got a T3 and TomTom wired GPS. When in the cradle the T3 keeping flipping from charging to not charging. I'm sure it's something to do with the s/w or gps receiver.
If I disconnect the gps then it charges perfectly. Any idea?
