Unhappy Fortuna Clip-On Receiver Query

Guys can anyone that has the Fortuna Clip-On GPS receiver please tell me if theres a seperate download/update available that's needed to get the TomTom Navigator 3 software to display the Fortuna GPS receiver as a choice of GPS receiver.

I've just unboxed my new iPAQ 4150 and installed the TT3 software and setup the Fortuna GPS but TT3 doesnt seem to dispaly the Fortuna in the list of availalbe GPS receivers :/

Any help much appreciated.

I'm having the same problem with this as are various others if you look through recent postings.

Fortuna usedto run on SiRF 38400 for TT2 but that doesn't work for TT3.

I've written to both Tom Tom and fortuna but so far no answers. I suspect itsgoing to need a patch to be developed.

I'll let you know if I get nywhere oherwise it looks like reinstalling TT2.

Regards

Hi Dave,

Managed to sort mine out now after 8 hours of 'faffing about' with it.

The TomTom 3 v3.02 patch seemed to help.

Even though the Fortuna clip on was showing as having power straight out of the box I charged it up over night and it seems to have helped things.

Please tell me if you think this is odd but I can only get it working when it's set in the TomTom GPS settings on Bluetooth Serial Port COM6 using the NMEA 0183v2 38400 driver!

I thought COM8 was recomended but when I use this I get nothing?

Hopefully a patch will be available soon to sort this problem out for the masses.

Cheers
