Tomtom GO 910 problem - help!

Tomtom GO 910 problem - help!

New, refurbished 910. Worked Ok until linked to computer. now locks at the start up screen whenever turned on. Can only turn off by resetting. can access via tomtom home if turned on when connected by USB, but when disconnect screen/device freezes again. Very frustrating - any thoughts suggestions or ideas.
