my tom tom 300 wont turn on tried recharging tried resetting no joy. the green light comes on when charging but thats it really. i know tom tom charge a fortune for repairs i want to avoid that anyone have any ideas.

It appears your battery has outlived it's useful life and will no longer take a charge. Personally I'd replace the battery before doing anything else.
