problem downloading gb maps to usa tom tom one

on a recent holiday in the usa i bought a tom tom one preloaded with usa & canada maps .
used it to great effect for 2000 miles of driving .Now back home i have purchased a cd of western european maps to download GB maps .
i have done this via tom tom home , but when i switch on unit with the sd card installed i get a graphic showing the card being removed and then crossed out , does anyone know what this means? also with the sd card installed i cannot get any functions. once removed it returns to the usa maps.tom tom home shows all the proper items installed on the card , but don,t know why it will not work , could it just be a faulty card?

It could be a probelm with card or that the program hasnt installed correctly onto the card.

If you call tomtom on 08451610009 they will be able to narrow it down for you.
