Default Car Connection Questions

I have an iPAQ 4150 and TomTom 3 and am trying to get some car-accessories but am having a nightmare.

I don't want a car kit that I have to drill into the dashboard or one that sticks onto the windscreen - one of the ones that clips into an air vent would be ideal.

Also, the big problem is getting a cable. The Tomtom car kist shows a cable that runs from the cigarette lighter to the iPAQ with a spur off to power the tomtom bluetooth gps. Does anybody know where I can get one of these?

I think I've looked everywhere but have been unsuccessful so any help would be much appreciated.

You can get vent clips and IPAQ holders from Expansys (www.expansys.com) and they are good and reasonably cheap. I got mine from there and it works a treat.

As far as I am aware the cable does not exist to attach both items described. I know you can get one for the Rikaline GPS ad others for the IPAQ but not for the bluetooth.

Probably the simplest way to put it all together is a 1 into 3 or 4 extension lead for your lighter socket, available from Halfords and half of the Internet and then you can connect several accessories. Some of the smallest ones are in Halfords as the bulky ones make your dashboard look a mess. Available for about £4 upwards.

Why not try the TT car kit?
Mine came with vent attachments and with leads for every option going.
I have TT3 with ipaq 1940. It fits smartly in the cradle and the cradle powers the Ipaq. If my bluetooth GPS receiver battery runs down I simply connect a cable from the cradle to the receiver. It did take me a bit to understand it as the receiver has a red light that tells you its charging. That seems to be back to front to me.
My only problem is that sometimes I need to tap the cradle to get the ipaq to charge and the weight of the installation pulls the vent down and the ipaq is not at the ideal angle. A little piece of packing sorted that problem.

If you want a clean installation (but not very cheap) try this:
