Hello All,
This is my first post and it's a bit of a nightmare , i got myself a new tomtom 1 only a few month ago from PC world and since i no longer have the receit they will not help me, what has happend is i was updating my tomtom to version 2.1 when i accidently erazed my Great britain and ireland maps, now since i do not have any backups off them which is my own fault for not making any my sat nav is not working now, ever time i turn it on it says no maps found, so apart from having to pay £30 for a new UK & Ireland map, is there anyway i can get these from somewhere else. thanks for any help in advance ....

Go here http://www.recuva.com/ and get their free recovery programme. You'll need a card reader. It's a nifty little programme which has worked for me a few times.

Hi,
Relax. I guess you can get your files in a very simple way. If you had purchased and loaded the maps through HOME, then here is the simplest way to restore them.
Goto My documents and see if there is a folder by name Tomtom. If its not there, then search in your comp for that folder. In that folder, you'll find the following path
TomTom\HOME\Download\map\... in this Map folder you'll find all the folders for your maps that you had downloaded. Copy the respective folders and paste them in your PDA. Make sure you activate the map. Bingo...you can restore your map!

Cheers,
Sam
