Problem locating postcode addresses

I have a tomtom one I use for work and it sometimes gets lent to other people.

Lately, I have found that when I enter a postcode say Cardiff for example....I start entering the beggining e.g CF24 and all I get is a list of Begginings of postcodes underneath to select from......it's as if it just wants to send you to city centres of places and takes no notice of the end part of the post code.....this i find well annoying and renders the machine about half as effective as it should be......
all I want is to enter a postcode and have the machine take me there......apppreciate any help or suggestions

Make sure theres a zip folder on the one, this contains the postcode info, tomtom home should auto update it for you though, sometimes it can be on the card, but the only time i had this problem the zip folder had to be copied to my pda, might be the same for the one.
