Question Wayfinder Experiences

Has anyone been using the Symbian Wayfinder GPS on either a Nokia or Sony Ericsson 'phone? I am interested in buying one of these, primarily as a satnav device, but also as a mobile 'phone. Any experiences on how easy to use, how accurate it is, any coverage problems, clarity of voice commands (important for my wife), and the costs of use. Any idea from 'phone bills on how much it costs to use the system, say over a 3-4 hour journey, and the annual subscription costs.

Would appreciate any comments. Thanks.
Laurie

I've just bought wayfinder to run on my P910. When it works, it's great, but it constantly crashes in the map view. I can't get any response from customer service. I'd avoid it like the plague. It's more frustrating than getting lost!

kennywinnit i responded to your last post with the contact details, i have found Wayfinder to have a quick response compared to alot of GPS companies. The thing i like most about Wayfinder other than the life time registration is when you go abroad you dont have to worry about copying maps etc onto the card as wayfinder downloads directly great idea if you travel from country to country alot.

Laurie

I use Wayfinder with a 910i and think it is great. It gets me to places I've never heard of with great accuracy.

The software is now relatively cheap (you can buy a 12 month subscription on the wayfinder website for just 99 euros) if you download the software and manuals.

I use wayfinder in 'guide mode' and only use the moving map when I'm close to my destination and the GPRS costs are negligible. If you use Wayfinder a lot in particular towns you can download the map(s) to your phone to reduce the gprs costs even further.

Hope this helps

Mike

I have a question as well.
I have a Nokia 6670 and am thinking of using Wayfinder on it. Can anybody tell me what their directional voice quality is like. I'm a bit worried that it won't be that clear.

Cheers
Gary

its not bad like most of voice volume it depends on the quality of the speaker on your phone. The voice is clear enough when i used it on my nokia 7610
