Angry Wanadoo Wireless Broadband and 4150

I have just got the new wanadoo broadband wifi router installed.

Works ok to my pc which has also got a wireless adapter.

It will not work with my ipaq 4150 and i have tried everything, could it be a fault of needing to use a WEP authentication?

Anyone used this combination before? please help

Thanks Mark

Welcome to our forums.
Never used that combo but you will only have to use WEP if it is enabled on the router. I suspect it will be a rebadge of someone elses hardware. Any idea what make mpgscott?

I'm afraid I'm not familiar with it at all. What settings have you selected on the iPAQ?

Hi,

I have tried enabling my own setup with WEP key, I have tried setting up a work network, It tells me under network card that my connection is available.

I have tried all the help pages that are pointed to on this forum, but to no avail.

I have read that there is some problems with the 4150 and WEP setup, most people say disable the WEP but as yet I cannot do this.

Any Thoughts?

Sorry but I'm at a loss. I have not heard of any issues with the 4150 and WEP. Can you point me to anywhere you have read about this?

Have you had any luck yet? I am trying the same thing with an IPAQ 5450. HP have provided an Eprom upgrade which made no difference. The PDA says its scanning but thats all. I tried using Wanadoo's software "connect another device", but that threw up an error message. HP suggested that it was a compatibility issue. I tried e-mailing Wanadoo, but gives the message that their system is off-line and gave an alternative standard e-mail address - guess what, they didn,t reply. I am currently running up my telephone bill holding for Wanadoo's Broadband Home's help desk.

Don't Wanadoo have a forum or FAQ on their site regarding configuration of their hardware?

Angry 4150 and wanadoo wifi router

Hi,

I have recently updated my ipaq's rom to have the correct Wifi settings.

I can now see the wanadoo router under network card and it says connected, but i cannot access the internet. My pc is also running a wifi setup to it and it works fine. I dont think i need to do any other settings to the router after its initial setup do i. I would have thought the 4150 would pick it up.

So to summarise i can now enter the wep key and the ipaq sees the correct router, but will not surf the WEB.

This is really annoying now as i have spent hours trying to sort it out.

If the worst the worst can you recommend a wifi router that will work with wanadoo and my pc and my 4150?

Many thanks for looking

In my opinion there is no reason why it shouldn't work with the set up you are using. It's most likely something very simple that has been overlooked.
On the Network Management page do you have the top pulldown box set to My ISP? Also have you specified an IP address for your iPAQs WLAN card or is it set to use a server assigned address?
