Unhappy Setting up Wireless on Ipaq h3835

Please help

I have a Compaq Ipaq h3835 running ppc 2002 and I want to be able to use wireless options while on holiday. I have therefor recently got the compaq CF/Bluetooth expansion pack and a D-link DCF-650W wireless cf card. All software installation seemed to work and everything seems to be detected. I have no wireless network to check that this works and so I have downloaded pocket winc to see which networks I can detect. However when I open pocket winc I get the following error message "Unable to loacte adapter. If it was turned off, please turn it on now" I have tried searching the web on this and had no joy yet. One suggestion mentioned about making sure the wireless radio was on using wireless manager but I do not have this or ticking connect to non-prefered network options but again I don't have this?

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

Welcome to our forums.
Have you configured any of the cards settings?

Thank you for the welcome - seems like an excellent and well organised forum.

I have tried a few configurations but no joy yet - anything in particular you recommend I look for?

Yeah, check if you have an statically assigned IP address or if it is set to obtain one automatically.

I have it set for automatic currently but it doesn't seem to generate anything?
