Unhappy need help connecting ipaq3715 to wireless network

Hi, I've been all over everywhere and still cant find any answers to help me connect my ipaq to my wireless ADSL router. I have a netgear DG834G ADSL router and have tried everything such as turning off the protection in my router and updated my router but my ipaq will only recognises the router but cannot connect to it.....
the ipaq runs on Windows Mobile 2003 second Edition v4.21 with all the latest Rom updates.
the wifi button always stays amber and in network adapters and 'My network card connects to is The internet and wifi adapter the 'use server-assigned IP address is chosen'

I've read many places that alot of people have had the same problems as me but no luck......the thing I can think of is that it maybe a windows mobile 2003 problem that we all have in common......can anyone help??

and when u do a full backup using active sync...does it back up the progs you installed on the ipaq?

any help will be appriciated....
thankyou
