Default Is anywhere wireless for my PDA a possibility?

Hello all,

Let me start by saying I am a complete novice when it comes to PDAs. I just bought a Palm TX last weekend and am a little confused in regards to the WiFi technology. I repeatedly asked the salesperson if I would need to sign up for any kind of WiFi service and he assured me that I would not as the WiFi is already built in to the Palm TX. Here's my problem... the ONLY place I am able to access the Internet is at home, and even that's a very weak signal. I've been reading up on WiFi and, unless I'm misreading things, it seems as though you typically have to pay $40 or $50 a month just to be able to access hot spots (i.e. Starbucks, hotels, airports) for your PDA? Can this be correct? Is there any type of service that will guarantee Internet connection for my PDA, no matter where I am? I know this is still a fairly new technology, I just thought it was easier to access the Internet than what I've found.

If anywhere wireless is not a possibility for my PDA is it possible on other devices such as digital cell phones? I'm on the move quite a bit so I will use any kind of medium I can to get reliable wireless Internet service.

Thank you very much in advance for any help you can offer. I greatly appreciate it.

-Chad
