Question IPAQ 4700, Bluetooth problems (02)

Hi, I have been trying unsuccessfully to connect to the internet on my IPAQ 4700. Wifi works fine, but try as I might I cannot bluetooth with my Nokia N70, it seems to link up OK, but when I go to connect it disconnects straight away.

I went through all the settings with a guy at 02, and I have tried the setting that I have found on this site.

I would be grateful for any suggestions...

thanks!

Have you paired the 2 devices together?

Also, are you using the BT phone manager (under settings>connections)?

Hi, yes devices are paired, and each device can see the other fine.

Have be using just the standard set up manager via settings, connections. There is another option 'BVRP phone manager' that I loaded up on initial set up of the ipaq, but that doesnt list my phone and doesnt bring it in from their latest update from the web, so I have been ignoring that one.

Use the BVRP, and select the closest (ie newest) model to your own.

Nokia have been using the same interface for a while, so should work fine.

Well, even after all this time I still havent managed to get my IPAQ 4700 connected to my Nokia N70, it connects but drops before I can do anything on Int Explorer. I have read around, and I think maybe it is a phone firmware issue - as mine is an old version and it is said to have Bluetooth issue. A bit of a pain, I could go get it upgraded, but might try a Motorola this time..

Not sure if you have it fixed it or not but I used to have a similar problem. I resolved it by using the advanced functions and additing an 'AT' command string. These vary from phone to phone but lots of examples on the internet. Your phone setting should be *99#. Hope it helps.
