Normally you shouldn't need to open any ports.
Few things to check. Check that MAC filtering isn't enabled. if it is, then you need to add the MAC of your PDA to the 'allowed' list.
The other thing is that any encryption password is entered correctly - again if used. Firstly select the method used (WEP/WPA). The password will be in hex, even if you typed a word/phrase into the router. Get this from your routers security section. Enter this on your device, noting to remove any . or - and that SOME routers see A1 and a1 differently, so try caps and non caps. So your code entered into the device would be in the format A1B2C3 etc etc
If you are sure it's connecting to the router, then this can be confirmed from the security section, where you sould be able to see all MAC clients connected - and as such your device's assigned IP, MAC and/or device name. IE John's PDA. |
