Default ipaq 4700 wifi

Hi all, after a lot of effort i have managed to get my ipaq 4700 to connect to my belkin 54g wireless router. the router is not secured for wireless but he mac filtering is on, i have added the mac address to the list and it now connects. if i run internet explorer it will not connect to the internet, i get messages saying that the page i am looking for cannot be found. should i have to set any other parameters to get it to work and if so what.
Thanks
