Try on the pocketgps.com website forums. You may get some answers there. Tomtom has always had issues with CF GPS cards for some reason.

This applies to both posts you replied to;
Thank You very much. I was begining to think that upgrading from my X5 to this X51V was a bad move, as nothing I try seems to work. TomTom for the GPS Receiver & the install of my latest map, then the 2 things that decided me to get an X51V, Bluetooth & WiFi, then Password Keeper - not picking up the data (password) file and ActiveSync which is now working on the USB connection at least.
Will have to register on the Aximsite.
Use the pocketgps site for the camera downloads.
Anyway Thanks again - Tony

Tried everything now. It's almost throw them in the bin time. The X5 still says "No GPS Device" on the old wired receiver and the CF receiver.
The new X51V after being updated with ROM A12 also says "No GPS Device" on a brand new GPS mouse wired receiver and the CF receiver.
TomTom GPS & GPSinfo on both PDA's does not pick up a signal.
I'm not sure whether to get TTN6 for the X51V because I don't want to spend the money if that doesn't work as well. Anybody got a working X51V using TTN5 that I can compare notes with?

Are you using Other as your GPS setting? Then select the card from the correct com port.

Can you uninstall GPS info and tomtom then just reload tomtom itself. Sometimes tomtom has issues with other GPS programs.

Purchased a TomTom Bluetooth receiver, arrived today, put it on charge, connected to it from X51V and it worked within a minute or so. Thats inside a high building on the 8th floor as well. So it looks like I need a bluetooth device for my old X5 with TTN5, anybody got any advise on if this is possible and how it's done. I presume it would be a CF bluetooth card. I will be selling the wired and CF flash card receivers on ? (guess where).

All working, I had a Belkin Bluetooth CF card that refused to work. Tried it again, this time installing onto device rather than SD card previously done to save device memory. It started OK and the bluetooth light on the card started flashing. Used the software Bluetooth Manager to search for devices and pair the TomTom receiver. Started TomTom on the X5, set GPS to use "TomTom wireless GPS" (the option for bluetooth) and it would not find the receiver. So changed the GPS setting the X5 to "other bluetooth GPS" and it worked. SUCCESS. Now have 2 PDA's and son's Nokia N95 all running TomTom. Just need more of these TomTom Bluetooth GPS receivers now.
