Default Cannot Connect to Wi-Fi

I am getting cannot connect with current connection settings on my Asus A639. I do have wi-fi at home but know nothing about it as someone installed it for me. Could someone run through what the settings should be or where I find them on my home PC. Please give me simple instructions as I am not very good with computer instructions. Very sorry to sound stupid but I do not want to get things wrong with the pc or pda.
Regards

Ok, what router do you have? Look on the name sticker on the device

If it came from your ISP, what is the ISP? Some customise the firmware which makes a difference too

I would look at the firmware and make sure you are all up to date. Also make sure router is recognized by the device.
