Default Wi-Fi problems regards to i-mate ultimate 9502

Hi guys, I purchased a i-mate ultimate 9502 from Australia carrier 'Telstra' a few days ago, however I found that the wireless function is useless with this unit as the carrier Telstra seems has lock down the connection options and not allow me to change to access the internet with IE or anyother software with my wireless connection at home.

After I turned on the wi-fi in the wireless manager, in a few seconds it found my wi-fi connection at home, then I enter the password and every is set for the wi-fi setting. However when I go to the 'connection' under the setting section, I can not change the connection setting to wi-fi when applications require internet connection, there are only four things under the connection such as 'Telstra internet', 'Telstra MMS' and 'My work' etc. but non of them can be edited to use the wi-fi connection, and even under the 'new connection', I can not create a connection that can use the wi-fi as the internet gateway.

I did a bit of research and there are also other 'Telstra' users experincing the same problem and they think its most likely Telstra's idea to lock down the connection options function that we can only access the internet in the PDA with its bloody expensive mobile internet access to increase they revenue, however I think its totally wrong and the wi-fi became useless in a PDA, which does not make any sence.

Can anyone help me out with this situation?
is there anything I can do such as re-install another verion or WM6? but will the WM6 Im going to install compatible with my i-mate 9502?
or any other way that I can bring my wi-fi alive again?

thx a lot guys......
