Default Wireless Connection Help

Hi all, new to this forum.

Im trying to conect to my home wireless internet connection with my pocket PC with no luck.

Im using the following:

Mio Digiwalker A201 Pocket PC - Mobile 5.0
Spectec SDIO 802.11b card

I've gone through everything I know to get connected but it wont connect. My PDA can find my home netwrok and attempts to connect but just keps trying to connect or says available. The icon next the network name in the configure wirless netwrok list shows a red padlock but can't find a way in.

I've set up the card with the specific IP addresses and have found most of these apart from the WINS but dont no if thats essential or if i can use the auto detect settings.

Can anyone help please???

Thanks

You need the WEP/WPA encryption passphrase used on your router.

Enter this in caps rather than as a1b2 etc. Some routers are fussy about the key being in caps.

Hi, thankd for the reply.

I though that I would need to enter the passphrase but don't know where to enter it. It won't let me enter enough letters/numbers in the network key box???

Thanks
Paul

Then you've selected the wrong encryption type.

Default me too

I too am having problems. I have a HP1930 and spectec sdw-822 wlan 802.11b card. I have WPA/WPA2, preshared key, TKIP/AES selected in my router. I can see the network but not gain access to it. When i connect to a neighbours router, I get signal strength and quality bars, but not when I connect to mine.

Really getting fed up now

thanks wayne

Sounds like you either have MAC filtering on your router and need to add the MAC of your card, and/or your router requires the hex code in caps. Some routers must have the code in caps.
